Building scientific and innovation potential to utilize HPC and AI for S3 Smart Specialisation in Montenegro
HPC4S3ME project was presented by prof. dr Tomo Popovic and doc. dr. Luka Filipovic at the 27th IEEE International Conference – Information Technology – IT2023. The conference had a special session dedicated to presentation of project results for the projects implemented in Montenegro and the region. The conference program is available at the following link.
The University of Donja Gorica is a co-organizer of the 16th Mediterranean Conference on Medical and Biological Engineering and Computing (MEDICON’23) and the 5th International Conference on Medical and Biological Engineering (CMBEBIH’23), organized by the Society for Medical and Biological Engineering of Bosnia and Herzegovina (DMBIUBIH), Verlab Research Institute for Biomedical Engineering, Medical Devices, and Artificial Intelligence with the University of Sarajevo and the University of Banja Luka.
The aim of the conference is to present all traditional areas of biomedical engineering and highlight upcoming innovations in the field of artificial intelligence, big data, machine learning, and healthcare.
The scientific and social program at MEDICON’23 & CMBEBIH’23 provides an excellent platform for researchers, scientists, engineers, physicists, and clinical experts to discuss the latest discoveries, innovative solutions, and new challenges in this field to improve the quality of healthcare and overall well-being.

Modernization and increasing the competitiveness of the Montenegrin economy, by concentrating available research, natural and economic resources on a limited number of priority areas. S3 should enable further accelerated development of the relevant priority areas, but also the development of new sub-areas within them, as well as new industries with strategic potential based on the synergistic interaction of priority areas. Achieving the main goal of S3, i.e. a modernized and competitive Montenegro, is based on three key strategic directions that represent the general long-term vision of the country’s development, namely healthy, sustainable and digital Montenegro.
